Concepts
Memories, Atlases, labels, sharing and permissions — the words to know when using Creo Memories.
Memory
Each record you keep in Creo Memories is a memory. It can be a short note or a long document.
A memory keeps who wrote it and when, so you can trace back when and by whom something was decided.
Only the person who wrote a memory can rewrite its content.
Atlas
An Atlas is where memories are kept. Use one per project or topic. You can create an Atlas inside another Atlas to build a hierarchy.
A memory belongs to one Atlas at a time. You can move it to another Atlas later.
Labels
A label is a marker you attach to memories. A memory can have several labels. An Atlas says where a memory is kept; a label says what it is about. When you search from your AI, you can filter by label.
Sharing and permissions
You can share an Atlas with other people. Sharing works per Atlas: an invitation shares only that Atlas, not the child Atlases inside it. To share a child Atlas too, invite people to it separately.
How many private Atlases you can share, and whether you can create public Atlases, depends on your plan. The Book plan allows neither. See the pricing page for details. You can join an Atlas someone else invited you to on any plan.
Invite links
You invite people with an invite link.
- Only one person can join with each invite link. To invite several people, create a separate link for each person.
- Links expire. When you create one, choose 1, 7, or 30 days (7 days to start with).
- You can revoke a link before it is used.
- A link that has been used, has expired, or was revoked shows the message "This link cannot be used".
Permissions
Each person you invite gets one of these permissions.
| Permission | What they can do |
|---|---|
| read | Read the memories in the Atlas |
| write | Everything in read, plus write memories to the Atlas. They can also change labels and to-do status (done, priority, due date) on other people's memories, but not their content |
| admin | Everything in write, plus rename the Atlas, change who can see it, move it under another Atlas, delete the Atlas, move and delete memories written by others, set the writing guide for compasses and stories, and invite and manage members |
The person who created the Atlas (the owner) can do everything with that Atlas. Even so, only the person who wrote a memory can rewrite its content, owner included.
Giving someone admin permission lets them delete the Atlas and other people's memories. Give it only to people you trust. Only the owner can grant admin permission with an invite link; members with admin permission can grant only read or write permission.
Public and private
Every Atlas has a visibility setting.
- Private: only the people you invited can read it.
- Public: anyone can read it, including people who are not signed in. Every memory in a public Atlas is public, no matter who wrote it.
Only the owner and members with admin permission can change visibility.
